Hey guys, great work so far!
I don’t know if it’s possible via the LinkedIn API, but tagging would be great. The only tool I know, which has this option is hootsuite - but you can only tag company accounts, no private accounts.

Hi Marcus. Only a few 3rd party apps have access to that LinkedIn API endpoint. As you may have imagined, we don’t, even though we’re part of their marketing developer platform.
We will soon allow you to mention companies that you do manage. That’s something we do have access.
P.S. LinkedIn does not have an API endpoint for mentioning other people in order to prevent spamming.

Thanks for your quick response. I already assumed that there might be a restriction at some point. But that’s good to know :-)

@Aryen dude… seriously… i was the most recent poster on this… right above your post…

Some great news! We were able to find a workaround!
In order to mention a LinkedIn Page in Publer, regardless if you’re an admin of the Page or not, simply type @ followed by the vanity name / url of the page (case insensitive).
For example:
Publer’s LinkedIn Page is: https://www.linkedin.com/company/ publer-io
Publer’s vanity name is: publer-io
So you can mention us on LinkedIn using Publer by typing @publer-io in the composer as shown in the attached screenshot.
Keep in mind that the vanity name needs to be 100% correct, otherwise you won’t get a suggestion back.
To find the vanity name, simply visit the LinkedIn page and look at the part after /company/
If you’re mentioning a Page you manage and see a bunch of numbers after /company/, simply click on “View as member” first.
Enjoy it :)

@Publer ahh so its likea sophisticated version of tagging in Instagram. In this case it will confirm the correct account if the correct one is typed in?

Kind of. LinkedIn API requires the ID of the Page, while Instagram doesn’t, and the only way to get that ID is if you enter the exact vanity name / username of the LinkedIn Page.

Great work! WIll there be a function for tagging personal accounts as well as pages?

Unfortunately, the workaround only works for Pages and not personal profiles.

No problem, it’s still a nice feature and will help lots of people. Top work!
