Custom Instagram Thumbnails and Carousels#1209
It would be great to have the option to customise thumbnails for Instagram posts the way it is for Facebook and also to be able to post Instagram picture Carousels

Instagram allows you to set a thumbnail only for Videos, and that’s already possible via Publer:
Regarding Instagram carousels, we’re tracking that here #461.

The thumbnails are not working? I have done my best to choose the best possible out of the ten bad choices given and even those which are not good enough anyway do not appear properly on Instagram

We have not had any issues on our end regarding the IG thumbnials.
We just ran a few tests too for a few use cases and the thumbnails are showing up properly when posting to Instagram. Can you please provide a few screenshots showing how you have set the posts up and how they look on Instagram?

Moreover, I understand the 10 choices are not ideal, but that is the only possibility at the moment. We’re tracking the option of uploading a custom thumbnail at #1059 . Feel free to subscribe for updates and add your suggestions there.

There is a second lag between the thumbnail and what is posted on Instagram this happened with three out of four posts I made today. My Instagram wall looks really bad

We were able to replicate the issue and finally fix it. There was indeed some lagging on our end when generating the thumbnails.
You should no longer face this issue with the new videos that you upload to Publer from now on.
Keep in mind that your existing videos in Publer may still face this issue.
