Organize media in library within folders (besides labels & teams / workspaces)#500

Could be used for various times of year or different campaign pushes or just different types of content in general. Sometimes that content would also have their own labels, but if it was under folder structures it could be more manageable.

File Folders for Media Library

This would be very useful as I work with different clients and so having separate folders to group their media assets in the library would help enormously

Hi Stephanie,

Have you considered creating a separate workspace for each client?

We usually recommend going this route when managing different clients instead of having everything in the same screen.

Folders would be game changing. Currently it just feels like chaos especially for carousel posts that all have similar colours/branding. Finding which week your on is tricky esp when images were bulk uploaded.

My request for “Organize media in library within folders”:

1) Hierarchy: Country > Product > Campaign (e.g., US > 120W Cable > Q4 Promo).
2) Bulk actions: create/move/merge folders, multi-select drag & drop.
3) Defaults per folder: caption template, country-specific hashtags, UTM preset, timezone.
4) Permissions: share a folder with specific team members only; view vs edit.
5) Smart folders: auto-fill by rules (filename, tags, country, platform).
6) De-dup + versioning: detect duplicate media and keep latest version.
7) Quick search filters: country, product, platform, ratio, duration.
8) Archive: cold storage folder that hides media from the composer by default.
9) API/Zapier: create folders, upload, move, and set defaults via Zapier.

Examples: US > Ice Globes > Black Friday; EU > Self-Stirring Mug > Always-on; AU > 120W Cable > Retargeting.
