Bug: Incorrect Cursor Position When Editing Chinese Text in the Publer Mobile App#3128

Subject: Cursor Positioning Bug When Editing Chinese Text in Publer Mobile

Hello Publer Support Team,

I’m experiencing a cursor positioning issue when editing Chinese text in the Publer mobile app.

Issue description:

When I delete a Chinese character, the cursor jumps to the wrong position. This issue only occurs when editing Chinese text; English text works normally.

Example:

  • Original text: “我是小明”
  • Action: Delete the character “明”
  • Expected result: “我是小” with the cursor positioned at the end of the text, after “小”.
  • Actual result: The cursor incorrectly moves between “是” and “小”, instead of staying at the end.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the Publer mobile app.
  2. Create or edit a post containing Chinese text.
  3. Enter “我是小明”.
  4. Place the cursor after “明” and press Backspace once.
  5. Observe that the cursor jumps to an incorrect position.

This issue makes editing Chinese posts difficult and frustrating, especially when making corrections to existing content.

Could you please investigate whether this is a compatibility issue between Publer’s text editor and Chinese input methods, and provide a fix?

Thank you for your help. I look forward to your response.

Best regards
