Link Preview support in LinkedIn follow-up comments#3062

I’ve found that link preview doesn’t work in follow-up comments for LinkedIn.

Reported this at the end of August, submitted a loom to show the problem.
I received an answer that it was confirmed by the dev team as not currently supported with the suggestion to add it to the Feedback page. (1 Sep 2026, by Brikena)

Please support link previews for LinkedIn.

Apologies for the earlier misunderstanding. We confirmed that LinkedIn’s API only supports text and images in comments, so Publer cannot generate link previews for URLs added to LinkedIn follow up comments.

We will keep this request On Hold in case LinkedIn expands its API capabilities in the future. However, LinkedIn has not announced any plans to support this, so we cannot provide an estimated timeline.

No worries. I understand. So many APIs… But I may have an alternative that c/would work and w/shouldn’t be too hard to implement.

Publer does have a feature “turn link into image” for link previews. That isn’t available for links in LinkedIn comments as… there’s no preview.

Would it be feasible to offer this for a “bare” link in a LinkedIn comment? Obviously using the image that would otherwise be the image for the link preview…
