Recurring feature#2651

I wanted to share a small piece of feedback regarding recurring posts that are meant to never end.

Since there is currently no “never ending” option built directly into the Recurring feature, the recommended workaround is to use Recycling instead. While Recycling does technically solve the problem, I found the logic behind it (time slots, predictions, midnight scheduling, availability, etc.) to be quite complex and not very intuitive—especially for users who are simply looking for a “post this forever” behavior.

I think this can easily confuse users, particularly when the setup becomes more complex or when posts appear much later than expected.

A possible improvement could be:

  1. either adding a clear “Never end” option to the Recurring feature, or

  2. at least having a dedicated help article that explicitly explains how to achieve a never-ending recurring post using Recycling, in simple, step-by-step terms, and clearly explains the backend logic and limitations.

I believe this would significantly reduce confusion and support requests around this topic.

Thank you for the great product and for continuously improving it.

Hi Sophy,

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We understand the goal here: a true “post this forever” option without having to think about time slots, availability, or unexpected scheduling.

At the moment, Recurring posts require an end date because removing it would effectively mean scheduling to infinity, which is not technically feasible. For “never-ending” behavior, Recycling is the intended workaround, but it works differently because it relies on your Posting Schedule and available time slots, so posts can sometimes land later than expected when the next slots are already taken.

If you want a simple “never-ending” setup today, the most reliable approach is:

  1. Set up a Posting Schedule for the social account (the time slots you want Publer to use).
  2. Create your post and choose Recycle, then set the recycling frequency.

Instead of a “never end” option, could you consider allowing longer end dates in the future, such as setting them up to 2 years ahead?
