Thank you for rolling out folders, it finally makes long-term media organization realistic.
The next improvement that would make the Media Library truly efficient is a faster way to select multiple media items.
Ideal request:
Shift-click to select a range
Cmd/Ctrl-click to add to selection
Drag-selection or marquee selection
Keyboard shortcuts for bulk actions (move / delete / add to folder / schedule)
However, if multi-select is a longer-term build, here’s a smaller change that would still dramatically improve workflow:
Let us select an image by clicking anywhere on the thumbnail without opening the lightbox.
Right now, clicking the thumbnail opens the image preview, which is great for reviewing individual assets, but slows down bulk organizing or scheduling. Selecting the checkbox is extremely precise and time-consuming when handling dozens or hundreds of files.
Why this matters:
I upload and manage media in large batches. The current click-to-preview behavior turns simple tasks (like moving assets into folders) into a repetitive process with too many steps. For users with large libraries, the workflow friction adds up quickly and makes it harder to take advantage of the new folder system.
Impact:
Faster folder organization
Less accidental previewing
Higher Media Library adoption for high-volume accounts
Makes bulk workflows feasible while multi-select is still in development
Folders were a huge step forward!
This improvement would make them truly usable at scale.
