Bulk set privacy settings for tiktok#1639

Currently: Doing this individually for each post adds a lot of friction - 5 extra clicks per post means that bulk posting is very cumbersome!

Agreed! Each time that I need to set the TikTok privacy settings, it changes my Instagram/Facebook posts from Reels to Posts. So, I have to manually click three times to change each post to the intended format.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to set default values for the TikTok privacy settings, or to select them in bulk, due to limitations from TikTok.

They are very strict when it comes to this, and that is why they ask that the values are selected manually each time for every video.

Setting the TikTok privacy settings should not change your Instagram/Facebook posts from Reels to Posts.

We also reached out to TikTok regarding their very strict UX requirements, i.e. having to manually select the video privacy and options, and this is their response 🙁

Thank you for the update! It’s frustrating that TikTok won’t allow the changes. What about making it so there’s less friction? Using a radio select for the privacy option instead of a dropdown menu would result in one less click, and maybe a “check all” box for the comment/duet/stitch boxes?

Then it would be two clicks instead of five, per video.

@James Cross they require a dropdown for the privacy and individual checkboxes for the other options.

That’s really unfortunate they get so specific with it! Here’s hoping they change it in the future.
