Improve reels functionality/abilities#1377
Right now, there are still many roadblocks to my using Publer to schedule reels. I’m not sure how many can even be addressed now, and which have API limitations.
- Ability to post longer and higher quality videos. I currently get an error saying videos have to be under 60 seconds and a certain size limit. Reels now allows up to 90 seconds, and I don’t have to reduce my video size natively within Instagram, as the app compresses the video for me.
- Ability to link/sync with trending sounds (as outlined in #1363)
- Ability to rename original audios
- Ability to add and time text (or at least toggle on the automatic captions)
- Ability to set the cover image
These are all things I’m doing manually within the app for now, and it would be too cumbersome to create my videos, upload them to Instagram, make the above modifications, then download the videos, just so I can upload them back to Publer for scheduling.
A possible workaround (API willing) would be if Publer could simply read directly from my Instagram drafts and hit the final “publish” for me at specified times. This might also prove difficult, given drafts only exist on the user’s phone.. but perhaps that’s something the Publer mobile app could handle?
